Luton.AI Collaboration

This summer, we’re working with partners to explore how AI tools and digital skills can support creative practice and cultural work in Luton. To help shape these free workshops and resources, we’re inviting you to share your views through a short survey. Whether you’re curious, cautious or already experimenting with AI, your input will help us make these sessions relevant and useful for everyone.

Exploring AI in Creative Practice:

Workshop + Discussion

Thursday 31 July 2025 | 12pm & 7pm

Hat Works, 47 Guildford Street | Free with booking

We have been speaking with Luton’s creative community about AI — and the responses have been clear:
30% say they’re not using it and don’t plan to.
50% are experimenting and keen to learn more.

Wherever you stand, these informal 45-minute sessions are a space to explore, ask questions, and think critically about AI in creative work.

We’ll look at:
– What AI is (and isn’t) in a creative context
– Misconceptions, risks and real-world use
– Copyright-proof, GDPR-compliant and ethical practices
– Opportunities and challenges for creatives in all disciplines

This is part of our ongoing collaboration with Luton.AI and sets the scene for a longer workshop at the University of Bedfordshire later this summer.

The session also falls on the opening day of Bute Street Film and Art Festival, where AI will be explored through a number of festival panels — making this a perfect place to start.

Free to attend, booking recommended.

Interim Survey Results are in:

We heard from some of you - thank you for your responses - and what a polarised poll! Half of respondents are using AI for some tasks and a third does not want anything to do with it! We are eager to hear your voices - the survey is still open.
