We’re in unprecedented times in battling the Covid-19 virus, but those of you who are out and about near the train station in Luton, may have seen a fabulous new artwork by Tom Pearman. ‘Hat Pin’ is a celebration of Luton’s hat making heritage in the Hat District. The sculpture is made from vitreous enamel and intersects the back of Hat House.
For more background about the ‘Hat Pin’ go to Tom Pearman’s website.
Hat House, one of Luton’s former hat factories, was recently refurbished as part of The Culture Trust’s Hat District regeneration project. This former hat factory is now home to Luton’s creative industry sector including Clearhead and The Panama Hat Company.
